The world of design is constantly in search of innovative talents who can bring a fresh touch of creativity and originality to every project. Undoubtedly, one of these emerging talents is Leonardo Talarico, an Italian designer and creative director.
Our collaboration with Leonardo has led to the creation of the “NATURALE” project, a unique and captivating collection that was showcased at the Marmomac event in Verona and at “Pinetum 07 design – dialogo,” an event held at Villa Gaeta in Moncioni.
The extraordinary creativity of Leonardo Talarico has been internationally recognized by many industry magazines, including “Case da Abitare” and “Milano Finanza Living.” But that’s not all; he has also recently made an appearance on the well-known online magazine. DESIGNBOOM – one of the most authoritative and widely followed design and architecture blogs and magazines in the world, boasting over 3.5 million readers.
“Synergizing artisanal craftsmanship and the beauty of nature, this venture with the Travertino Toscano brand for Lapis Vitae presents a backless bench and a fountain for cascading water — born from nature, from the local natural stone, Tuscan travertine. With their organic and monolithic volumes that gracefully intertwine, the bold pieces embrace the rugged elegance of the stone, sculpting into visual and tactile experiences.” With their organic and monolithic volumes that gracefully intertwine, these bold pieces embrace the rustic elegance of the stone, transforming into visual and tactile experiences.
From the initial dialogue between the talented designer and our company, we immediately felt that creating products without continuity would be limiting. We have, therefore, worked on the bench and the fountain with the idea of extending the family into an entire collection, centred around the design concept of ‘interlocking’.
Thus, sculptural objects with a strong visual and tactile impact are born, featuring significant volumes and slender forms interweaving with each other.
In an interview done with Leonardo Talarico – which you can find in our previous article – we asked what it was like to work with a historic company with strong roots like Lapis Vitae, he responded with words that make us feel satisfied and excited about this collaboration more and more every day.
“Working with Lapis Vitae is stimulating for me, a brand with historical roots yet with an eye toward the future, on how their material can come to life when reinterpreted with different perspectives. I am very pleased with the collaboration because I had complete freedom to express my stylistic traits to the fullest, and the brand showed maximum openness and receptiveness. We naturally consulted on the technical aspects related to the construction of the object so that the concept could be translated into a product.”
